Volunteering

Without our volunteers we would unable to meet demand for advice and information. In return, we offer our volunteers training and the opportunity to acquire transferable skills while helping members of their local community.

Volunteers needed for a new project at North Warwickshire Citizens Advice!

North Warwickshire Citizens Advice have received funding from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s COVID-19 Recovery & Resilience Fund to run a remote volunteer advice project specifically aimed at those most affected by COVID-19. This project will be delivering support and advice for clients with issues that have arisen out of the current Coronavirus pandemic, such as: financial hardship; employment: job loss; problems with furlough; relationship breakdown, as well as general support required by those shielding/with health conditions.

Volunteers on this project will provide advice, guidance, and support, remotely, to people in our community. The volunteers who enrol on to the project will be given access to the national Citizens Advice digital learning platform which offers volunteers comprehensive, free, high quality training in their own home. The project will provide vocational training and opportunities for volunteers to develop skills which increase pathways to employment. Once enrolled on to the project, volunteers will be provided with the necessary IT equipment to carry out their advice role from home. Remote volunteering

We are also currently looking for volunteers who can join our team as a remote volunteer advisor, based at home.

Our recruitment process

At North Warwickshire Citizens Advice, all of our volunteers go through a structured training programme. We provide full training for all roles and it is possible to progress through a number of roles.

When someone expresses interest in volunteering with us, we invite them to attend a discussion to learn what we do and talk about our free training programme. You will have the opportunity to tell us what you are interested in doing and ask us questions.

Volunteering at Citizens Advice is a commitment. We require regular attendance for a minimum number of hours per week.

Further, volunteers must attend monthly training sessions to keep their skills and knowledge up to date. As we provide a service to members of the public we need to ensure the standards and reliability of what we do.
