MHEND – Mental Health, Employment Need and Debt

MHEND is a partnership project between Cornish mental health charity, Pentreath, and North Warwickshire Citizens Advice.

The skilled and dedicated team of Citizens Advice advisers work to reduce financial pressures and stress on people who are already in a vulnerable place and contribute to their improved mental health.

Clients are allocated two advisers – one from Pentreath to support their mental health – and one from Citizens Advice to deal with their debt and financial issues. The programme of support lasts from 8 to 12 weeks and the client is then helped to access other services they might need to help them move on with their lives.

Mhend advisers can help with benefits advice, work and employment, consumer problems, housing, family law and courts and immigration issues.

They also help clients access other advice and support programmes within North Warwickshire Citizens Advice.

The project is funded by Cornwall Council Public Health.
